Galbena Gorge
Galbena Gorge is located in Bihor county, in the Apuseni Natural Park, on the edge of the Padiș basin. The Galbena River has carved a narrow passage between the limestone walls, with waterfalls, rapids and sections where the water passes under the rock. The part near Izbucul Galbenei concentrates the narrowest passages.
The valley drains part of the waters that circulate in the Padiș underground. The height of the walls and the difficult access to the bed mean that the route requires preparation for mountain hiking. The gorge is included in the Galbena Circuit, marked with a yellow dot. The park administration classifies it as a long trail with difficult sections, prohibited in winter.
