Genoese Lighthouse in Constanța

The Genoese lighthouse is located in the historic center of Constanța, near the Casino and behind the bust of Mihai Eminescu sculpted by Oscar Han. It is about 8 meters high: a square base of 3.5 meters, above which rises an octagonal stone tower, with the lighthouse lantern at the top.
Today's lighthouse was built in the 1860s, on the foundation of a Genoese lighthouse from around 1300, which guided ships to the then small port. Inside, a spiral stone staircase climbs up to the lamp.
