George Enescu Memorial House in Sinaia

Sinaia, Prahova

The "George Enescu" Memorial House is in the Cumpătu neighborhood of Sinaia, Prahova County. Vila Luminiș was built between 1923 and 1926 to the musician’s own ideas, with help from the architect Radu Dudescu. Enescu came back here between tours to rest and compose.

The Ibach piano used by the composer is kept in the salon. The rooms bring together furniture and decorative items in different styles, and his bedroom is small. The spiral staircase connects the salon to the Belvedere tower and the attic. The villa, donated to the Romanian state in 1947, has been a memorial museum since 1995.
