Gheorghe Cernea Ethnographic Museum in Rupea

Rupea, Brașov

The Gheorghe Cernea Ethnographic Museum is located in Republic Square in Rupea and is part of the Brașov Ethnographic Museum. It is named after the folklorist Gheorghe Cernea, who researched the traditions of this area.

The rooms show the life of the Romanians and Saxons around Rupea: folk costumes, textiles, furniture, glass icons, ceramics and tools. Displays illustrate fishing on the Olt, the pottery of Drăușeni and wedding customs, and the grocery store of the merchant Michael Falk has been reconstructed.
