Giurgiu

Giurgiu is the seat of the county of the same name, Muntenia, Romania. It is an important river port and a border point with Bulgaria. It is located on the southern edge of the country and the county, on the left bank of the Danube, in a swampy area, 65 km south of the capital Bucharest, on the border with the Ruse region of Bulgaria.
