Golești Museum
In Golești, a village that is part of the town of Ștefănești in Argeș County, the old boyar manor houses the Golești Museum. The ensemble brings together the Golescu family mansion and an open-air ethnographic museum dedicated to viticulture and fruit growing. The grounds of the old manor preserve buildings connected with the family’s life and work.
The open-air section brings together farmsteads, wine cellars, presses and equipment used to process grapes and fruit. The mansion and annexes were restored during the Second World War. The restoration work was led by the architect Horia Teodoru. The collection preserves portraits of the Golescu family and objects donated by the family’s descendants.
