2005 - David Strathairn, Jeff Daniels, Alex Borstein, Rose Abdoo, Dianne Reeves
In the early '50s, the threat of communism created an atmosphere of paranoia in the United States, and Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy fully exploited these fears. CBS reporter Edward R. Murrow and his producer, Fred Friendly, decided to take a stand and challenge McCarthy, exposing him for the spreader of rumors and unfounded fears he was. This took an enormous personal toll on both journalists, yet they stood by their views and helped bring down one of the most controversial senators in American history.
