Greceanu Fortified Manor

Cula Greceanu, from Măldărești, Vâlcea county, is a fortified noble house, with thick walls and rooms on successive floors. It is part of the historic complex of fortified tower houses from Măldărești and preserves elements that combine the need for defense with the organization of a family residence.

The narrow windows, the internal staircase and the arched porch are notable. In one room there is a painting made by Olga Greceanu in the 1930s, with portraits of the ancestors of the Măldărescu family. Restored in the twentieth century, the building has also been used as a setting for historical films, thanks to its preserved architecture.
