The Hanoverian Hound (Hannoverscher Schweißhund) is a German tracking dog, specialized in searching for wounded game by the trail of blood. It descends almost unchanged from the "leash dog" of the early Middle Ages. He is calm and confident, sensitive with his handler and very loyal to the hunter, but reserved with strangers.
