Hedgehog
A hedgehog's spines are hollow hairs hardened with keratin, and unlike a porcupine's quills they do not come off easily. When threatened, it rolls into a tight spiny ball, tucking in its face, feet and belly. There are 17 species, in Europe, Asia and Africa, which eat insects, snails, frogs, eggs, mushrooms and fruit.
