Holy Angels Wooden Church in Novaci
Novaci, Gorj
The wooden church of the Holy Angels in the Novăceni district (Novaci-Români) is the oldest church in Novaci. It was built in 1740 by the treasurer Ursache and a certain Ștefan Ceaușescu.
Some of the icons are signed by the painters Constandin and Dumitru. The church was repaired in 1830, 1930, 1950 and 2018, but has retained its original wooden framework. It is a historical monument.
