Holy Trinity Church in Gura Slănic
The Church of the Holy Trinity is located in the Gura Slănic neighborhood of Târgu Ocna, at the foot of Măgura, on the road to Slănic-Moldova. Built at the beginning of the nineteenth century, it is the foundation of Archimandrite Iacob, former head of the Măgura Ocnei Monastery. At the beginning it was a dependency of the monastery, then it belonged as a branch of the Răducanu Church.
The church is built of stone, with an elongated ship-shaped plan and plastered walls on the outside. Inside, the limewood iconostasis and the portrait of the founder, painted on canvas and placed in the choir gallery, are preserved. The painting was renovated in 1977. The church has served the community of Gura Slănic as a parish since 1967.
