Hunting and Natural History Museum in Bene House
The Museum of Hunting and Natural Sciences in Sfântu Gheorghe operates in Casa Bene, on Gróf Mikó Imre street. The 1914 building was renovated to house the collection, which was opened to the public in 2013. An important part of the trophies comes from the donation of Sárkány Árpád, and the museum is managed by the Vadon Association.
The halls bring together taxidermy specimens, trophies and dioramas. Fauna from the bend of the Carpathians is presented in a setting that recreates the living environment of the animals, and another room is dedicated to African fauna. Among the decorations is the representation of a bear's den. Interactive displays complement the exhibits with species information. The visit takes place inside the house and follows both the history of the hunting collection and the diversity of the animals represented.
