Hydrophobia

Hydrophobia

Fear of water
Taken from the Greek roots hydōr, “water”, and phobos, “fear”, the word hydrophobia means fear of water. Because it was long used for a symptom of rabies, the fear of water is now more often called aquaphobia. Those affected may avoid baths, showers, swimming pools and large bodies of water, and exposure therapy can help them.
