I. C. Brătianu Museum Center in Buzău
The "I. C. Brătianu" Museum Center operates in the building of the former hospital on Nicolae Bălcescu Boulevard in Buzău. The hospital was built in 1895 and inaugurated in 1896, and the building was restored to serve as a museum. In the exhibition, the history of medicine is linked even to the rooms where the medical activity used to be carried out.
Two operating rooms keep equipment and shadowless surgical lamps recovered and restored. Photos and multimedia presentations explain the interventions on the building and its transformation. Other former wards are dedicated to art, with works by Rodica Pănăitescu, Emil Pricopescu and Pompiliu Dobrin. The visit thus passes between the history of a hospital and the art collections exhibited in the same building, in a separate building from the county museum on Aleea Castanilor.
