Independence Square in Corabia

Corabia, Olt

Piața Independenței in Corabia gathers in one public space several landmarks of the city's memory. The Independence Monument occupies the central area, surrounded by vegetation, and the busts of Mihai Viteazul and the priest Radu Șapcă complete the ensemble. The place recalls both local history and important moments in Romania's history.

The square can be explored on foot to observe the monuments, inscriptions and surrounding buildings. The stop provides context for Corabia's connection to the Danube and the War of Independence. The monuments are discovered together, within the same walk through the city center, without a visit program specific to an institution.
