Ioan Grămadă Ethnographic Collection

Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Suceava

The Ioan Grămadă Ethnographic Collection from Câmpulung Moldovenesc brings together objects from Bucovina households: ceramics, tools, household utensils, furniture and pieces of traditional dress. Opened to the public in 1999, the private collection was organized to preserve the way a traditional late nineteenth-century house looked. Shirts, fabrics and wooden objects are seen together, in rooms furnished with things used in everyday life.

The visit continues from the rooms of the house to the exhibition spaces in the courtyard, where the occupations of the area's inhabitants are illustrated. The objects collected by Ioan Grămadă show both the work in the household and the attention paid to interior decoration and clothing. The collection can be visited upon request, by establishing access with the administrators.
