Ion Creangă's Cottage
Iași, Iași
Ion Creangă's Bojdeuca (cottage) is in the Țicău neighborhood of Iași, Iași County. The writer lived in this small two-room house with a shingle roof from 1872 to 1889. Here he hosted Mihai Eminescu and wrote some of his stories and memoirs.
The house became a museum in 1918. The rooms hold objects from Creangă's life: books, textbooks, photographs, dishes, candlesticks and writing tools. The low rooms, the porch and the courtyard keep the scale of a nineteenth-century house on the outskirts of Iași.
