An outbreak of canine flu forces the mayor of a small Japanese town to banish all the town's dogs. Quarantined on an island used as a rubbish dump, Chief, Rex, Boss, Duke and King can only lament their miserable situation. After several uneventful days, the five friends happily wag their tails when Atari Kobayashi, a little boy searching for Spots, his most loyal friend, arrives on the island. But the search is full of adventures, and the dogs must help Atari find his friend before the Japanese authorities force him to return home.
