Italian Roughhaired Hound
Italy
The rough-haired Italian Segugio (Segugio Italiano a pelo forte) is a medium-sized Italian scent hound used mainly for hunting rabbits and wild boars. Wikipedia says it is one of two forms of the Segugio Italiano, the other being the short-haired, almost identical apart from the coat. The FCI standard describes it as hardy and fast, and compared to the short-haired variety, more reserved, less exuberant, wise and calm.
