Karlovy Vary is a spa town in the west of the Czech Republic, in a valley crossed by the river Teplá. Elegant colonnades cover mineral springs, and the Mlýnská colonnade and the Vřídlo spring are among the most famous landmarks. The surrounding forested hills and historic buildings give the town its distinctive scenery.
