King Michael I (Herăstrău) Park

Bucharest

King Mihai I Park, also known as Herăstrău, occupies a large part of the north of Bucharest, around the lake of the same name. It was laid out in 1936, on the banks of one of the lakes formed on the Colentina River. Wide walkways and wooded areas surround the water and connect the entrances from Charles de Gaulle Square, Șoseaua Nordului and Kiseleff Road.

The Japanese Garden and Rose Island are among the park's attractions. The park features gardens, monuments and spaces for outdoor activities. The National Village Museum, located on the Kiseleff side, is a separate attraction, visited apart from the park.
