Lipova Town Museum – Sever Bocu House
The Lipova Town Museum occupies the Mișici-Bocu House, on Nicolae Bălcescu street, in the city center. The building from the first half of the nineteenth century was the home of politician Sever Bocu. The rooms retain period furnishings: inlaid parquet floors, Viennese tiled stoves, crystal mirrors, chandeliers and pieces of furniture.
The art collection donated by Eleonora Costescu and Vasile Varga includes Romanian and European paintings, along with porcelain, glassware and silverware. The exhibition includes works by Ion Andreescu and Nicolae Tonitza, as well as paintings from the Flemish, Italian and French schools. The museum is part of the Arad Museum Complex and has a permanent exhibition open to the public, in the rooms of the former residence.
