Little Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Miercurea Ciuc
The Little Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is located near Central Park and Libertății Square in Miercurea Ciuc. It was built in 1936, on the initiative of the priest Isidor Vlad. Its single tall, narrow tower adjoins a rounded main body and a dome lit by numerous windows. The facades have a simple geometric decoration, with plastered surfaces and vertical openings.
The building was at times used as a warehouse and suffered damage that affected the furniture, windows and roofing. Its restoration was supported by the priest Emil Pop and the local community. Today the restored church stands out among the buildings of the civic center thanks to its cross-topped tower and the circular prayer hall. The entrance faces the pedestrian area near the park.
