The Löwchen ('little lion') is a small companion dog of the Bichon family, with long, silky and wavy fur, traditionally trimmed like a lion: with a rich mane, shaved back and a tail with a tuft. The standard describes him as very affectionate and obedient to his owners, attentive and calm when needed.
