Lucian Blaga Memorial House in Lancrăm

Lancrăm, Alba

The Lucian Blaga Memorial House is located on Ulița Veche in Lancrăm, a village that is part of the municipality of Sebeș. The writer's family home was built in 1870 by his grandfather, the priest Simion Blaga. The building became a museum in 1995, after the state bought the property, to mark the centenary of the poet and philosopher's birth.

Manuscripts, documents, letters, volumes with the author's signature and family photos are exhibited in the rooms. The rustic furniture and period pieces are accompanied by personal items, including the hat, coat and suitcase from his student years. The courtyard links the old house with spaces set up for cultural events. The memorial house is run by the Lucian Blaga Cultural Center in Sebeș.
