Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien, Maurice, the penguins and the monkeys are back and still shipwrecked in Madagascar. In the face of this obstacle, the New Yorkers have concocted a plan so crazy it just might work: with military precision, the penguins have repaired a crashed old plane, sort of. The plane gets airborne, but it runs out of fuel and crash-lands on a nature reserve in Africa, where Alex is reunited with his parents and his friends meet their own kind in the wild for the first time.
