Măldărescu House in Târgu Jiu

Casa Măldărescu is located on Tudor Vladimirescu Street in Târgu Jiu and is one of the historical buildings of the city preserved from the eighteenth century. The building dates from 1719. The facade has arches on the lower level and windows framed by decorations, and the first floor is separated by a pronounced decorative band.

The building is linked to the beginnings of public education and the local theater. The city's first public school operated here, from 1832, and a play was staged in 1834, initiatives associated with Constantin Stanciovici-Brănișteanu. The house can be viewed as an architectural landmark on Tudor Vladimirescu Street; there is no documented museum route inside for tourists.
