Marius Bunescu Picture Gallery

The Marius Bunescu Art Gallery is located in the "Ioniță Asan" Theoretical High School in Caracal, on Nicolae Titulescu Boulevard. Inaugurated in 1947, the collection was formed through donations and purchases supported by artists originating from the city. Marius Bunescu was the main donor and contributed to the organization of the gallery, together with the teachers and students of the high school.

The collection brings together painting, sculpture and Japanese prints. The artists represented include Hortensia Popescu, Iosif Iser, Arthur Verona and Ștefan Dimitrescu, and the marble busts of the Poroineanu family are works by Raffaello Romanelli. The art gallery can be visited within the educational institution, so access must be arranged with the high school before the trip.
