Mausoleum in Soveja
The Soveja mausoleum is located in the village of Dragosloveni, Soveja commune, Vrancea county. Built between 1923 and 1929 according to the plans of the architect George Cristinel, it houses the bones of the soldiers who fell in the battles in the valley of Șușița in the First World War. The stone facade and the cross above the entrance give it the appearance of a small fortified building.
The complex includes the mausoleum and an exhibition dedicated to the battles in the area. Photographs, documents, maps, weapons and medals explain the unfolding of events and preserve the memory of the fallen. The monument belongs to the Vrancea Museum, which publishes visitation information and organizes commemorative activities here.
