Meculești Hermitage in Pitești

Pitești, Argeș

The Church of the Holy Archangels, known as the Meculești Hermitage, was founded in 1752 by the boyars Pârvu and Șerban Lerescu. It was painted in 1845, with money from Maria Pleșoianu and Elena, the wife of a sluger (a boyar official who supplied the princely court with meat).

The church holds valuable icons, two of which are from 1591. It is a historical monument.
