Meerkat

In southern Africa lives the meerkat, a small mongoose with a broad head, large eyes, a pointed snout and long legs. It measures 24–35 cm and weighs under 1 kg, and its light grey to yellowish-brown fur has faint stripes on the back. It lives in groups of 2 to 30 animals, in which the members that do not breed look after the others' young.
