Mihail Sadoveanu Memorial House in Fălticeni

The Mihail Sadoveanu Memorial House in Fălticeni is located on Ion Creangă Street, in the house known as the House on the Hill. The writer designed the house and lived here between 1909 and 1918. The timber veranda, the wide windows and the surrounding garden preserve the image of a residence from the beginning of the twentieth century, which later became a memorial space.

During the years spent here, Sadoveanu wrote volumes such as Apa morților, Bordeienii and Neamul Șoimăreștilor. The house is part of the network of municipal museums in Fălticeni and recalls the period when his ties with the town went hand in hand with intense literary activity. After moving to Iași, the writer returned to Fălticeni, and in 1930 he received the title of honorary citizen of the city.
