Mihail Sturdza Public Garden in Bârlad

Bârlad, Vaslui

Mihail Sturdza Public Garden in Bârlad is a historical park whose development began in the nineteenth century. The paths pass among oaks, maples, ash trees and other species planted over time. The monumental entrance and mature vegetation set it apart from the city's newer parks.

Inside are a bandstand, play areas and monuments to cultural figures. The statue of George Enescu is made by Ion Vlad, and the bust of Alexandru Vlahuță, by Ion Dimitriu-Bârlad. A statuary group presents Ion Creangă telling a story to children. The walk can follow the avenues with trees and these works, spread over the green space.
