Mikes Castle in Zăbala

Mikes Castle is located in Zăbala, Covasna county, on an estate with a sprawling park at the foot of the mountains. The ensemble was developed by the Mikes family in successive stages between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries. The historic buildings are surrounded by old trees, paths and green areas.

The park and the castle are protected as historical monuments. The estate preserves the old residence and outbuildings, part of a property now used for hospitality and events. The landscape was laid out around the noble architecture, with views toward the wooded hills. As this is a private estate, access to the park and buildings depends on the administrator's rules.
