Mircea Lucescu

Mircea Lucescu is known mostly for his career as a coach, but he was also an important Romanian footballer. As a winger, he stood out for his speed, technique and crosses, playing mainly at Dinamo Bucharest. He was the captain of the national team at the 1970 World Cup, where Romania met England, Czechoslovakia and Brazil. Towards the end of his playing career, at Corvinul Hunedoara, he started coaching, bridging the two stages of his life in football.
