Monument and Museum on Măgura Ocnei
The Monument-Museum on Măgura Ocnei was erected between 1925 and 1928 in memory of the soldiers who fell in the battles of Oituz, Coșna and Cireșoaia. The stone construction is 22 meters high and comprises a ground floor and two floors, connected by a circular internal staircase. It is a commemorative monument distinct from the monastery on the same mountain.
The museum's collection includes photographs from the First World War, weapons, ammunition, medals and military uniforms. The objects document the battles of 1917 and the people involved in the defense of the Moldavian front. The ascent from Târgu Ocna reaches the slope of Măgura, in a wooded area; the access schedule to the monument's rooms must be confirmed before travel.
