Museum of Human Evolution and Technology in the Paleolithic
The Museum of Evolution of Man and Paleolithic Technology in Târgoviște traces the life of prehistoric communities through archaeological discoveries and reconstructions. The collections include pieces from research at Peștera Cioarei-Boroșteni, in Gorj, and from Poiana Cireșului, in Neamț county. The tools, ornaments and traces of the use of colors show how people obtained food, processed materials and gave meanings to the surrounding objects.
The exhibition setup includes a reconstructed cave, scenes of flint processing and a tent associated with the Gravettian communities. They help to understand the pieces in the showcases and the actions needed to make them. Video materials complement the explanations of techniques and research. The museum is located on Stelea Street, in a separate building from the other Târgoviște museums.
