Museum of Printing and Old Romanian Books
The Museum of Printing and Old Romanian Books is housed in Casa Aramă, near the Princely Court in Târgoviște, Dâmbovița County. The building has a cellar, ground floor, upper floor and veranda, reached by an external wooden staircase. The exhibition traces the beginnings of printing and the circulation of books in the Romanian lands.
On display are old books, tools and items related to printing techniques, page decoration and bookbinding. The work of Macarie, Coresi and later printers ties the museum to the cultural history of Târgoviște. From the veranda of the house you can see the monuments of the Princely Court, and nearby is the Sfânta Vineri Church.
