Nadia Comăneci Monument in Onești

The Nadia Comăneci statuary group from Onești, the city where the gymnast was born, was created in 1999 by the artist Eremia Grigorescu and the architect Ioan Goia.

At the top of the monument is the silhouette of a gymnast, above the Olympic rings. Nadia Comăneci was the first gymnast to score a 10 at the Olympic Games, in Montreal, in 1976.
