Năsăud Border Guards Museum

Năsăud, Bistrița-Năsăud

The Năsăud Border Guard Museum operates in the "Svarda" building, the former barracks of the Second Romanian Border Regiment, built in the eighteenth century. The building is a historical monument.

The collections began with donations from Iuliu Moisil, Iulian Marțian and Virgil Șotropa. On display are weapons and objects of the border guard regiment, folk costumes and tools from the Someșul Mare Valley, archaeological finds, the herbaria of the botanist Florian Porcius and old Romanian paintings.
