National Geological Museum

Bucharest

The National Geological Museum is located on Kiseleff Road in Bucharest and presents the history of the Earth through minerals, rocks and fossils. The collections bring together crystals, decorative mineral clusters and traces of living things that lived millions of years ago.

Rocks and fossils provide clues about the changes the planet has gone through. Among the exhibits are reconstructions of prehistoric animals, including dinosaurs discovered in the Hațeg area. The visit thus connects the shapes and colors of the minerals to the story of the places they come from. For children interested in nature, the museum offers concrete examples of Earth's past and the world beneath our feet.
