Necrophobia
Fear of death or the dead
Corpses and everything linked to death, such as coffins, tombstones, funerals and cemeteries, trigger a strong fear in people with necrophobia. The fear can be set off, for example, by a dead animal or by the funeral of someone close. The word comes from the Greek nekros, “corpse”, and phobos, “fear”.
