Nicolae Iorga Memorial Museum

The house with the high porch in Vălenii de Munte, Prahova county, was bought by Nicolae Iorga in 1908 and houses his memorial museum. The wooden gate, the courtyard paved with river stone and the carved pillars of the porch preserve the appearance of a house in the sub-Carpathian area.

Inside are arranged the work office, the bedroom and the living rooms of the family. The library, the manuscripts, the inkwell and the objects on the historian's desk document his activity. Furniture with folk motifs, icons on glass, family portraits and an academician's ceremonial uniform complete the collection, along with photographs and documents from Iorga's public life.
