Nicolae Simache Clock Museum
The "Nicolae Simache" Clock Museum is in Ploiești, Prahova County, in the house of the former prefect Luca Elefterescu. The collection was started by Professor Nicolae Simache in 1963 and later moved to this late-nineteenth-century residence. The building preserves decorated rooms and elements of neo-Gothic architecture.
The exhibition traces timekeeping through sundials, pendulum clocks, table clocks, pocket watches and musical mechanisms. Some pieces belonged to personalities such as Alexandru Ioan Cuza, Mihail Kogălniceanu and Ion Luca Caragiale. Music boxes and figurine clocks complete the horological collection.
