Nicu Enea Memorial House
The “Nicu Enea” Memorial House is on the street named after the painter, in a house built in 1926. Nicu and Elvira Enea lived here between 1929 and 1960. After the artist's death, his wife donated the house, the land and a large part of his works and personal belongings. The museum opened in December 1970, and Elvira Enea was its first custodian.
The rooms bring together paintings, graphic works, photographs, letters and objects kept from the family home. The initial donation included 130 paintings and 210 graphic works, along with furniture and other belongings. The exhibition presents the artist’s work alongside objects from his everyday life. The house also hosts temporary exhibitions and art activities for children, so it remains a place where people can meet art.
