Olt County Museum

Slatina, Olt

The Olt County Museum is in Slatina, Olt County, on Ana Ipătescu Street. The institution was formed around local collections of archaeology, numismatics and folk art, and opened in 1952. The exhibitions trace the past of the communities of the Lower Olt Valley.

Ceramics, tools, statuettes and coins come from prehistoric, Dacian, Roman and medieval sites of the county. Ethnographic collections include costumes, textiles and objects from rural households. The documents and heritage pieces show the region's connections with princes and noble families, including the Buzești and Brâncoveanu families.
