Oltenia Museum

The Oltenia Museum is in Craiova, Dolj County, and is organized into sections housed in different buildings in the city center. The Archaeology and History Section occupies the former Madona Dudu school, a building from the beginning of the twentieth century. The collections trace the habitation and development of the region over time.

The exhibitions include pottery, jewelry, coins, weapons and everyday objects found in Oltenia. The Ethnography Section operates in Casa Băniei and presents clothing, textiles and crafts. The Natural Sciences Section has its own building, with exhibits on animals, fossils and the environment of the region. The three sections are visited separately, as parts of the same institution.
