Oradea Fortress
Oradea, Bihor County
Oradea Citadel, in the city of Oradea (Bihor county), has the form of a fortification with five bastions. Today's buildings come from several stages: the medieval center of the bishopric, the Renaissance fortress and the later transformations. Inside are the former princely palace, courtyards and buildings once used by the army or the administration.
Today, the citadel hosts museums, exhibitions, workshops and cultural events. Exhibitions present the history of the city and objects found in archaeological excavations. The visit can be continued on foot through the historic center of Oradea.
