Palace of Culture in Bistrița

Bistrița, Bistrița-Năsăud

The Palace of Culture in Bistrița is located on Albert Berger Street, in the building built for the city's tradesmen's association. The building, dated 1891 and designed by Paul Brang, has become one of the important places of cultural life in Bistrița. The decorated facade, the entrance and the ample volume of the building preserve the character of a construction designed for meetings and performances.

Today, the "George Coșbuc" Municipal Cultural Center operates here. The institution's calendar includes chamber concerts, theater performances, film screenings, exhibitions and festivals. The visit can combine observation of the outside with participation in an event chosen from the program published by the center. Access to the halls and exhibition spaces depends on the day's activities. The building is close to the municipal park and the remains of the fortifications, so it can be included in a walk through this part of the old center.
